The Northwestern State Demons and the Alcorn State Braves have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2021 and 2025, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Copies of contracts for both games were obtained from Alcorn State University and Northwestern State University via state public records requests.
In the first game of the series, Northwestern State will travel to face Alcorn State at Jack Spinks Stadium in Lorman, Miss., on Sept. 11, 2021. The Demons will host the Braves the following season at Harry Turpin Stadium in Natchitoches, La., on Aug. 30, 2025, which will conclude the series.
Northwestern State and Alcorn State have met only twice previously, which was also a home-and-home series. The two schools split the two-game set, with the Demons winning on the road in 1982, 28-7, and falling at home in 1983, 24-20.
Northwestern State is a member of the Southland Conference and Alcorn State is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), both in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
With the addition of Alcorn State, Northwestern State has completed their non-conference schedule for the 2021 season. The Demons are also scheduled to play at North Texas on Sept. 4 and host UT Martin on Sept. 18.
Alcorn State is the first scheduled non-conference opponent for Northwestern State in 2025.
Northwestern State is the second scheduled non-conference opponent for Alcorn State in 2021. The Braves are also slated to play at South Alabama on Sept. 18.
The Braves now have two games scheduled for the 2025 season, as Northwestern State joins a contest at Mississippi State on Sept. 13.
