James Madison adds Campbell to 2021 football schedule

By Kevin Kelley -

The James Madison Dukes have added the Campbell Camels to their 2021 football schedule, the school announced on Friday.

James Madison, a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), will host Big South Conference member Campbell at Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg, Va., on Nov. 6, 2021. The game will mark the first-ever contest between the two schools on the gridiron.

The addition of Campbell completes James Madison’s non-conference football schedule for the 2021 season. The Dukes are also scheduled to host Morehead State on Sept. 4 and travel to take on Weber State on Sept. 18.

Campbell, which only has a six-game Big South schedule, now has four of their five non-conference opponents lined up for 2021. The Camels also have home contests scheduled against Elon (Sept. 11) and Presbyterian (Sept. 18) and a road contest at Liberty (Sept. 4).

James Madison Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne also announced today the addition of five other future non-conference contests, but all five were previously reported or announced.

The Dukes will travel to take on Louisville on Nov. 5, 2022 and North Carolina on Sept. 21, 2024. James Madison will also play a home-and-home series with Morehead State in 2021 (Sept. 4 home) and 2023 (Sept. 9 away) and will host Norfolk State on Sept. 10, 2022.
