The Presbyterian Blue Hose have announced their 2020 football schedule, which features five home contests.
Presbyterian will play the 2020 season as a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Independent. The Blue Hose left the Big South Conference following the 2019 season and will begin playing in the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League (PFL) in 2021.
“Facing four opponents for the first time, playing six road games including a flight to San Antonio, competing against two future Pioneer Football League opponents exemplifies the 2020 football schedule was designed to help prepare PC for competition in the PFL in 2021,” Presbyterian athletic director Rob Acunto said. “The team’s improvement throughout all of last season resulted in winning two of their last three games, and that has the coaches and players feeling very good about the entire 2020 schedule. I encourage all of our fans to ‘Take Pride in PC’ by coming to see the team play this fall.”
Presbyterian opens the 2020 season with back-to-back games on the road at Morehead State on Thursday, Sept. 3 and at Johnson C. Smith on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The first home game for Presbyterian is scheduled for Sept. 19 against UVA-Wise at Bailey Memorial Stadium in Clinton, S.C. The Blue Hose then travel to play Gardner-Webb on Sept. 26 before returning home to host Stetson on Oct. 3.
A road trip to take on Incarnate Word is slated for Oct. 10, which is followed by Presbyterian’s only open date of the season on Oct. 17.
Erskine College visits Bailey Memorial Stadium on Oct. 24 for Presbyterian’s Homecoming. This will be the first season for Erskine since they disbanded their football program in 1951.
