The San Diego State Aztecs have added a home-and-home series with Central Michigan and three games against FCS opponents to their future football schedules, the school announced on Wednesday.
San Diego State and Central Michigan will open their series at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, on Sept. 28, 2024. Six seasons later, the series will conclude in San Diego, California, on Sept. 21, 2030.
The 2024 contest in Mount Pleasant will mark the first-ever meeting between San Diego State and Central Michigan on the gridiron.
San Diego State has also added three new contests against Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) opponents. The Aztecs will host Portland State on Sept. 21, 2024 and again on Sept. 5, 2026, and Stony Brook on Aug. 30, 2025.
The announcement today by San Diego State also confirmed five matchups that we previously reported. The Aztecs will play a home-and-home series with California, traveling to Berkeley on Sept. 14, 2024 and hosting Cal on Sept. 13, 2025.
San Diego State also officially announced three other games against FCS opponents that were known — Towson on Sept. 25, 2021, Idaho State on Sept. 10, 2022 and again on Aug. 26, 2023.
Additionally, San Diego State has made date changes to previously scheduled home games against Toledo in 2022 and UCLA in 2023. The Toledo game has been moved from Sept. 10 to Sept. 24, 2022, while the UCLA contest has moved from Sept. 23 to Sept. 9, 2023.
With the additions and changes, San Diego State’s future non-conference football schedules are now complete through the 2024 season.
