The Towson Tigers will play at the San Diego State Aztecs in 2021, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Towson will travel to take on San Diego State in San Diego, California on Sept. 25, 2021. The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
San Diego State will pay Towson a $450,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from Towson University via a state public records request.
Towson is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Tigers finished the 2017 season 5-6 overall and 3-5 in CAA action.
The San Diego State Aztecs have tentatively completed their 2021 non-conference football schedule. The Aztecs are scheduled to open the 2021 season at home against New Mexico State on Sept. 4, travel to play Arizona on Sept. 11, and host Utah on Sept. 18 before entertaining Towson in San Diego.
