The Tennessee Volunteers have added two Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) opponents to their future schedules, FBSchedules.com has confirmed.
Copies of contracts for games against UT Martin and Austin Peay were obtained from the University of Tennessee. News of the two matchups was first reported by RockyTopInsider.
Tennessee will host the UT Martin Skyhawks of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., on Saturday, August 31, 2030. The Volunteers will pay the Skyhawks a $550,000 guarantee for the game, according to the copy of the contract.
Tennessee and UT Martin first met on the gridiron in 2010 and then met again in 2022. The Volunteers defeated the Skyhawks in both contests.
With the addition of UT Martin, Tennessee now has two non-conference opponents scheduled for the 2030 season. The Vols are also slated to visit the Washington Huskies in Seattle on Sept. 7.
The Austin Peay Governors of the United Athletic Conference (UAC) will travel to take on Tennessee at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, August 30, 3031. The Govs will receive a $550,000 guarantee for the contest, per the contract copy.
Tennessee also holds a 2-0 all-time advantage over Austin Peay. In their most recent matchup in 2023, the Volunteers defeated the Governors 30-13 Knoxville.
Austin Peay is the first scheduled non-conference opponent for Tennessee in 2031.
Earlier Friday, we confirmed that Tennessee has scheduled future games at home against Bowling Green in 2029 and against Chattanooga in both 2028 and 2029.
