The Tennessee Volunteers have added the Bowling Green Falcons and Chattanooga Mocs to their future football schedules, FBSchedules.com has confirmed. Copies of the game contracts with Bowling Green and UT Chattanooga were obtained from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Bowling Green officially announced its matchup vs. Tennessee, while the Chattanooga games were first reported by RockyTopInsider.

Tennessee will host Bowling Green at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, September 15, 2029. The Falcons will receive a $1.3 million guarantee for the matchup, according to the agreement.

The 2029 contest will be the third meeting between the two programs. Tennessee won both previous games, defeating Bowling Green 59–30 in 2015 and 38–6 in 2021.

The Volunteers have also added two future games against their in‑state counterpart, the Chattanooga Mocs. Tennessee will host Chattanooga on Sept. 16, 2028, and again on Sept. 8, 2029. Each game carries a $550,000 guarantee for the Mocs, per the contract.

Tennessee and Chattanooga have met 44 times in a series that dates back to 1899. The Vols have won the last 11 matchups—including a 69–3 victory in 2024—and lead the all‑time series 40‑2‑2.

With the addition of Chattanooga, Tennessee has tentatively completed its 2028 non‑conference schedule. The Vols are slated to face West Virginia in the Duke’s Mayo Classic in Charlotte on Sept. 2, followed by a home game against Central Michigan on Sept. 9, which we reported last month.

Bowling Green and Chattanooga also round out Tennessee’s non‑conference slate in 2029, which already includes a home matchup against Washington on Sept. 1.
