South Dakota State finalizes football schedules through 2022

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits have finalized their football schedules through the 2022 season, the school has announced.

South Dakota State will open the 2020 season at home at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium in Brookings against the Butler Bulldogs on Sept. 5. Other non-conference games include a trip to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sept. 19 and a home contest against the Dixie State Trailblazers on Nov. 14, 2020, which was previously reported.

In Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) play in 2020, South Dakota State will host Indiana State (Sept. 26), South Dakota (Oct. 10), Western Illinois (Oct. 31), and Youngstown State (Nov. 21) and will travel to North Dakota (Oct. 3), North Dakota State (Oct. 17), Southern Illinois (Oct. 24), and Northern Iowa (Nov. 7).

South Dakota State has completed their 2021 schedule with the addition of a home contest against the Dixie State Trailblazers. The game is scheduled for Oct. 2.

The remainder of South Dakota State’s non-conference schedule in 2021 includes a trip to take on the Colorado State Rams on Sept. 4 and a home contest against the Delaware State Hornets on Sept. 11.

MVFC games in 2021 for South Dakota State include home contests against Southern Illinois (Oct. 9), Northern Iowa (Oct. 23), North Dakota State (Nov. 6), and North Dakota (Nov. 20) and road trips to Indiana State (Sept. 25), Western Illinois (Oct. 16), Youngstown State (Oct. 30), and South Dakota (Nov. 13).

To complete their 2022 schedule, South Dakota State and Iowa moved their game in Iowa City to the season-opener on Sept. 3. The Jackrabbits then slotted in their previously announced home game with Butler for Sept. 17, one week after hosting the UC Davis Aggies on Sept. 10.

In MVFC play in 2022, the Jackrabbits will host Western Illinois (Oct. 1), South Dakota (Oct. 8), Indiana State (Oct. 29), and Illinois State (Nov. 12) and play at Missouri State (Sept. 24), North Dakota State (Oct. 15), North Dakota (Oct. 22), and Northern Iowa (Nov. 5).
