The San Jose State Spartans at Boise State Broncos football game has been canceled due to COVID-19, the Mountain West announced on Saturday.

The two schools were scheduled to meet at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho, on Saturday, Nov. 28. The game will not be played due to “…an upward trend of COVID-19 cases and contact tracing within the Boise State football program.”

The San Jose State-Boise State football game will not be rescheduled and will be declared a no-contest.

This is the second consecutive contest canceled for San Jose State following the cancellation of their game at Fresno State last Saturday. San Jose State (4-0) is next scheduled to play the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at home on Saturday, Dec. 5.

“We arrived in Boise on Friday and learned this news Saturday morning,” said San Jose State University Athletics Director Marie Tuite. “Our players and coaches were looking forward to this game with great anticipation. It is a big disappointment to everyone that we are not able to play this game.”

Boise State is 4-1 overall and 4-0 in Mountain West play this season. The Broncos are currently scheduled to return to the gridiron on Friday, Dec. 4 on the road against the UNLV Rebels.
