Murray State, Missouri State schedule 2024-25 football series

The Murray State Racers and the Missouri State Bears and have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2024 and 2025, FBSchedules.com has learned.

A copy of the two-game contract was obtained from Murray State University via a state public records request.

In the first game of the series, Murray State will travel to take on Missouri State at Robert W. Plaster Stadium in Springfield, Missouri, on September 14, 2024. The Racers will then host the Bears the following season at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, Kentucky, on September 6, 2025.

The two schools are also scheduled to meet in a home-and-home series in 2026 and 2027, which we reported in August. Murray State will host Missouri State on September 12, 2026 before traveling to take on the Bears on September 11, 2027.

Murray State and Missouri State first met on the gridiron in 1942 and have played 11 contests overall. Missouri State won both games of a recent home-and-home series, 28-22 in Murray in 2016 and 28-21 in Springfield in 2017, to extend their series advantage to 8-3.

Both schools are members of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Missouri State competes in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, while Murray State plays in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Murray State has tentatively completed their non-conference schedule for the 2024 season with the addition of Missouri State. The Racers are scheduled to open the season at Missouri on Aug. 31 and also travel to take on Kentucky on Nov. 16.

Murray State is the second known non-conference opponent for Missouri State in 2024. The Bears are scheduled to open the season at Montana on Aug. 31.

The Murray State-Missouri State matchups in 2025 through 2027 are the first scheduled non-conference games for both schools for those seasons.
