The Florida Gators have added the Charlotte 49ers to their 2023 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Florida will host Charlotte at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on Sept. 23, 2023. UF will pay Charlotte a $1.55 million guarantee for the game, per a copy of the contract obtained from the University of Florida via a state public records request.
The 2023 contest between Florida and Charlotte will mark the two schools’ first-ever meeting on the gridiron.
Florida now has two non-conference opponents scheduled for the 2023 season. The Gators are also scheduled to host in-state rival Florida State in Gainesville on Nov. 25.
Charlotte has now tentatively completed their 2023 non-conference schedule. In addition to playing at UF, the 49ers are scheduled to play at Maryland on Sept. 9 and host Georgia State on Sept. 16.
Samford-Florida Date Change
Samford at Florida, which we previously reported was scheduled for Nov. 20, 2021, has been moved up to the season-opener.
The Bulldogs will now visit Gainesville on Sept. 4, 2021, according to a revised copy of the contract obtained from the University of Florida. The guarantee for the game has been raised from $500,000 to $525,000.
Florida is also scheduled to play at USF on Sept. 11 and host Florida State on Nov. 27 that season. The Gators need one additional non-conference game to complete their 2021 schedule.
