Final AP Top 25 Poll for 2020 season released

The final AP Top 25 Poll for the 2020 season has been released, and the Alabama Crimson Tide finishes on top with all 61 first-place votes.

On Monday night, Alabama defeated the third-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 52-24 to win the College Football Playoff National Championship. The Crimson Tide finished their championship season 13-0 and claimed their sixth title under head coach Nick Saban.

Ohio State moved up one spot from No. 3 to No. 2, even though they lost in the championship game. The Clemson Tigers, which fell to the Buckeyes 49-28 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, dropped one spot from No. 2 to No. 3.

Texas A&M (No. 4; 9-1), Notre Dame (No. 5; 10-2), and Oklahoma (No. 6; 9-2) round out the top six in the final AP Top 25 Poll.

The No. 8 Cincinnati Bearcats (9-1) finished as the highest ranked team from a Group of Five conference. The Bearcats were defeated by the Georgia Bulldogs, 24-21 in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. That win moved Georgia up four spots from No. 11 to No. 7.

Other non-power conference teams to finish in the final AP Top 25 Poll include BYU (11), Coastal Carolina (14), Louisiana (15), Liberty (17), Ball State (23), San Jose State (24), and Buffalo (25).
