The 2019 Marshall Thundering Herd at Boise State Broncos football game is moving to Friday night, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Marshall was originally scheduled to take on Boise State at Albertson’s Stadium in Boise, Idaho, on Saturday, Sept. 7. The two schools will now meet on the blue turf on Friday, Sept. 6, according to a copy of an amendment obtained from both schools via a public records request.

The Mountain West Conference will likely confirm this move as well as announce several other games moving to weeknights in conjunction with their TV schedule release this Spring.

The 2019 Marshall-Boise State game is the first of a home-and-home series that concludes at Joan C. Edwards in Huntington, West Virginia, on Sept. 26, 2020. That game was moved up one week from Oct. 3 via the same amendment.

Boise State is scheduled to open the 2019 season against the Florida State Seminoles at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday, Aug. 31. The Broncos then host Marshall on Sept. 6, Portland State on Sept. 14, and later travel to face BYU on Oct. 19 to close out their non-conference slate.

The Broncos are currently slated to open up Mountain West action at home against Air Force on Saturday, Sept. 21. Other home conference opponents include Hawaii, Wyoming, and New Mexico.

Boise State will travel to face Mountain West foes UNLV, San Jose State, Utah State, and Colorado State.

Marshall opens the season at home against the VMI Keydets on Saturday, Aug. 31. After playing at Boise State, the Thundering Herd host Ohio (Sept. 14) and Cincinnati (Sept. 28) in non-conference action.

The Herd open their 2019 Conference USA schedule on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Middle Tennessee. Other road conference opponents include Florida Atlantic, Rice, and Charlotte.

Marshall’s home conference opponents in 2019 include Old Dominion, Western Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, and FIU.
