The Youngstown State Penguins have released their fall 2021 football schedule, which features a game at Michigan State.
Following a seven-game MVFC spring 2021 season (one game was canceled), Youngstown State has opted to play only two non-conference games this fall and 10 games overall. The Penguins will have open dates on Sept. 18 and Oct. 16.
Youngstown State opens the fall 2021 season with a non-conference contest at home against UIW on Thursday, Sept. 2. The Penguins then travel to take on Michigan State on Sept. 11.
Youngstown State opens Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) play at home against Western Illinois at Stambaugh Stadium in Youngstown, Ohio, on Sept. 25. Other home MVFC opponents include Missouri State (Oct. 9; Homecoming), South Dakota State (Oct. 30), and North Dakota State (Nov. 13).
The Penguins will travel to face MVFC foes Northern Iowa on Oct. 2, Indiana State on Oct. 23, North Dakota on Nov. 6, and Southern Illinois on Nov. 20.

Youngstown State finished the spring 2021 season 1-6 in MVFC action. It was the second season under head coach Doug Phillips.
