The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will host Austin Peay in 2018 and Chattanooga in 2020, according to a report by Chad Bishop of WBKO-TV.

Western Kentucky will host both teams at Houchens Industries – L. T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green. Austin Peay will visit on Sept. 8, 2018 and Chattanooga will visit on Sept. 5, 2020.

WKU and Austin Peay have met 42 times on the gridiron dating back to their first meeting in 1940. The Hilltoppers lead the overall series 35-6-1 and have won the last five matchups.

Although Western Kentucky has won the last two meetings, the Chattanooga Mocs currently lead the series 8-5. But the Mocs haven’t beaten the Hilltoppers since winning three straight from 1989 to 1991.

Western Kentucky now has three non-conference games scheduled for 2018 and two for 2020. WKU is also slated to visit Wisconsin and Ball State in 2018 and Indiana in 2020.

The Hilltoppers are slated to open the 2016 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 at home against the Rice Owls.
