The Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Keydets have announced their 2020 football schedule, which includes eight Southern Conference (SoCon) contests.
VMI opens the 2020 season with back-to-back non-conference contests on the road against the Robert Morris Colonials on Sept. 5 and the Virginia Cavaliers on Sept. 12.
The following week on Sept. 19, VMI opens their home slate at Alumni Memorial Field in Lexington, Va., against the Princeton Tigers.
VMI opens SoCon play on the road on Sept. 26 at the Chattanooga Mocs before returning home to host the Furman Paladins on Oct. 3. The lone open date for the Keydets in 2020 is slated for Oct. 10.
A road trip to face the Wofford Terriers is up next on Oct. 17, and then the Keydets return to Lexington to host consecutive contests against the ETSU Buccaneers on Oct. 24 and The Citadel Bulldogs on Oct. 31.
VMI’s November slate begins with back-to-back road games at the Western Carolina Catamounts on the 7th and at the Samford Bulldogs on the 14th. The Keydets close out their 2020 regular-season schedule on Nov. 21 at home against the Mercer Bears.

VMI finished the 2019 season 5-7 overall and 4-4 in SoCon play, their best record in five season under head coach Scott Wachenheim.
