The UTSA Roadrunners and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have added a football matchup in 2020, both schools announced on Saturday.

UTSA will host fellow Conference USA member Middle Tennessee at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020. The game will be televised by CBS Sports Network at 8:00pm ET/7:00pm CT.

UTSA was previously scheduled to host the Memphis Tigers on Friday, Sept. 25, but Memphis was forced to cancel the contest due to positive test results amid the ongoing novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

In two previous meetings on the gridiron, UTSA and Middle Tennessee are tied with one win apiece. The Blue Raiders defeated the Roadrunners in San Antonio in 2015, 42-7, and fell to the Roadrunners in Murfreesboro in 2016, 45-25.

UTSA is 2-0 so far this season following victories at Texas State, 51-48 in double-overtime on Saturday, Sept. 12, and at home against Stephen F. Austin, 24-10 on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Middle Tennessee has lost two consecutive games to start the 2020 season. The Blue Raiders lost at Army on Saturday, Sept. 5, 42-0, and at home against Troy on Saturday, Sept. 19, 47-14.

It is rare that two schools in the same conference play a non-conference matchup (not counting CCGs).
