The UTSA Roadrunners have added the Abilene Christian Wildcats to their 2027 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the football game contract with Abilene Christian University (ACU) was obtained from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) via a state of Texas Public Information Act request.
UTSA will host Abilene Christian at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, September 4, 2027. The Roadrunners will pay the Wildcats a $350,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.
The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two in-state schools on the gridiron. UTSA is 0-1 against current members of the United Athletic Conference (UAC), while ACU holds a 8-22-2 record against American Conference opponents.
With the addition of Abilene Christian, UTSA now has three of its four opponents for its 2027 non-conference schedule. UTSA is slated to visit LSU on Sept. 11 before hosting Texas State on Sept. 18.
UTSA is the third scheduled non-conference opponent for Abilene Christian in 2027. The Wildcats are scheduled to open the season hosting Lamar on August 28 before traveling to face Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 18.
