The UTEP Miners at Texas Longhorns football game originally scheduled for September 8, 2012 in Austin has been moved to 2016, Statesman.com has reported. An exact date has not been announced.
The game was moved due to the Big 12 Conference’s recent realignment from 12 to 10 teams. The league will move to a nine-game football schedule in 2012. Therefore, each team will only play three non-conference games per season.
The Longhorns hold a 4-0 all-time series lead over the Miners. The two teams played a home-and-home series in 2009-09. Both games were won by Texas, 42-13 in El Paso and 64-7 in Austin.
