The United Athletic Conference (UAC) has unveiled a revised 2026 football schedule that includes the addition of the West Florida Argonauts.
Earlier on Thursday, West Florida officially announced that it will move up from Division II to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and begin play in the UAC this fall.
With the addition of West Florida, coupled with the departures of Southern Utah and Utah Tech to the Big Sky Conference, the 2026 season for the UAC will now include eight football-playing schools. West Florida joins a lineup that also includes Abilene Christian, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama, Tarleton State, and West Georgia.
Each UAC team will play a seven-game, round-robin league schedule this fall. FCS teams can play 12-game schedules beginning in 2026, so each conference member will play up to five non-conference opponents.
Newly added West Florida will play an unbalanced schedule this fall consisting of two UAC home games — Austin Peay and Tarleton State — while traveling for five contests against Central Arkansas, Abilene Christian, Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama, and West Georgia.
The UAC originated as a football-only partnership between the ASUN Conference and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). On July 1, the UAC will discontinue its football‑only structure, with the WAC adopting the UAC name as part of a broader rebranding initiative.

Any word Kevin on the two games that were replaced with the addition of WFU. I believe that was Central Oklahoma on the UCA schedule and Tennessee Tech for EKU.
Neither school has announced anything.
According to EKU’s website, the Southeast Missouri game is the one being dropped. It’s possible West Florida picks that game up and whatever game Central Arkansas drops.
Thanks Andrew, that’s what seems to have happened alright.
FYI Kevin, it looks like what EKU is doing is sliding the WFU game to 10/24 to keep the Tennessee Tech game on 10/17 and then they moved their open date to 9/26 and moved SEMO out of that date.
I actually see you guys updated all that all ready, all over it as usual.
@Andrew, not sure the idea of WFU just picking up that date with SEMO works.
SEMO is going to want to keep a home date and WFU already has 5 road games and just 3 road dates, but it certainly could work depending on how they want to fill out their schedule.
A lot of teams with open dates week 0 still, but it will be interesting to see what else then end up with for this season.
Looks like it. They updated it late in the day after I stopped working.
MJ, (see what I did there :) !)
It’s U.W.F. WFU is Wake Forest. UWF is the University of West Florida.
