The Citadel Bulldogs have announced their fall 2021 football schedule, which includes five home games and 11 contests overall.
The Citadel will open the 2021 season with three consecutive non-conference games, beginning on the road on Saturday, Sept. 4 at Coastal Carolina. The Bulldogs open their home slate one week later at Johnson Hagood Stadium in Charleston, S.C., against Charleston Southern on Sept. 11.
Following an open date on Sept. 18, the Bulldogs travel to wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule at South Carolina State on Sept. 25. This contest was previously unannounced.
On Saturday, Oct. 2, The Citadel opens Southern Conference (SoCon) action at home against VMI. Other SoCon home opponents for the Bulldogs this fall include Western Carolina (Oct. 23), Mercer (Oct. 30), and Wofford (Nov. 13; Homecoming).
The Citadel will travel to take on SoCon foes ETSU (Oct. 9), Furman (Oct. 16), Samford (Nov. 6), and Chattanooga (Nov. 20).

The Citadel played a four-game non-conference schedule in the fall and went 0-4, falling to USF, Clemson, and Army on the road and Eastern Kentucky at home. The Bulldogs open their eight-game spring SoCon schedule on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Mercer.
