The Texas Southern Tigers will play at the New Mexico State Aggies in 2020, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Texas Southern will travel to take on New Mexico State at Aggie Memorial Stadium in Las Cruces on Nov. 14, 2020. The Aggies will pay the Tigers a $325,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from Texas Southern University via a state public information request.

Texas Southern and New Mexico State’s first and only meeting on the gridiron was on Sept. 16, 2006. The Aggies won that contest 48-14 in Las Cruces.

The Texas Southern Tigers are a member of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and compete in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Last season, TSU finished 2-9 overall and 1-6 in SWAC play.

New Mexico State is the second scheduled non-conference opponent for Texas Southern for the 2020 season. The Tigers are also scheduled to host Houston Baptist on Sept. 12.

The New Mexico State Aggies, a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) Independent, now have 11 games scheduled in 2020. NMSU is scheduled to open the season at UCLA on Saturday, Aug. 29 (Week Zero).

NMSU is eligible to play in Week Zero and could also schedule a total of 13 games because they play at Hawaii on Oct. 10 that season. Other road contests include UTEP (Sept. 26), Fresno State (Oct. 17), UMass (Nov. 7), and Florida (Nov. 21).

Home contests for New Mexico State in 2020 include Akron (Sept. 12), New Mexico (Sept. 19), Texas State (Oct. 3), and Louisiana (Oct. 24), in addition to Texas Southern.
