The Tennessee Volunteers have added the Georgia State Panthers to their 2012 football schedule, the AJC reported today.
Tennessee will host Georgia State at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville on September 8, 2012. It will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
Georgia State is currently competing as an independent in the Football Championship Subdivision. They are slated to join the Colonial Athletic Association beginning in the 2012 season.
The Panthers, led by head coach Bill Curry, played their first ever season in football in 2010 and finished with a 6-5 record.
The Volunteers have now completed their 2012 non-conference schedule. UT opens the 2012 season on September 1 against NC State in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff in Atlanta. Tennessee also hosts Georgia State (09/08), Akron (09/22) and Troy (11/03).
Football Schedules:
big upgrade from North Carolina and Oregon
why to go Dooley and Hart!!!!!
I am happy with this arrangement. I am a huge volunteer fan and I go to Georgia State.
go vols
I remember watching UT play Penn St and UCLA at Neyland Stadium; now it’s Ga State, Akron Zips, and Troy. The Army does not admit retreating… they call it “advancing to the rear”.
My, oh My, how far we have come. :(
