The Temple Owls have scheduled future home-and-home football series with the Akron Zips and the UMass Minutemen, the school announced on Monday.
Temple and Akron will kick off a home-and-home series on Sept. 11, 2021 at InfoCision Stadium in Akron, Ohio on Sept. 11, 2021. The series will then conclude at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sept. 2, 2023.
In 21 previous meetings, Temple holds a 14- lead over Akron. The Owls won the most recent meeting 41-3 back in 2011 in Akron.
Temple and UMass will play a home-and-home series in 2020 and 2022. The Owls will travel to face the Minutemen at McGuirk Stadium in Amherst on Oct. 10, 2020 and will then play host to UMass on Sept. 24, 2022.
Temple leads the all-time series with UMass 2-0. The Owls defeated the Minutemen 25-23 in 2015 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and then won 29-21 in 2017 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Temple is scheduled to play their 2018 Cherry & White Spring Game on Saturday, Apr. 14. The Owls open the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at home against the Villanova Wildcats.
