The TCU Horned Frogs have announced their 2010 non-conference football schedule. The Horned Frogs will open the season against the Oregon State Beavers at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, September 4.

The meeting in Arlington will be the first ever game between the Horned Frogs of the Mountain West Conference and the Beavers of the Pac-10.

TCU will then host Tennessee Tech, an FCS school, for the first time ever on September 11. On September 18, the Baylor Bears visit Fort Worth. The overall series between TCU and Baylor currently stands at 49-49-7.

The Horned Frogs’ final non-conference game is Friday, September 24 at SMU. TCU leads that series 43-39-7.

Not too shabby of a schedule. OSU is a helluva pickup, SMU should still be respectable after finally getting to a bowl game in forever last year, and Baylor should be improved. Wish we could’ve picked up an FBS team for our other game, but schedules are set so far in advance and if changes are made in the “11th hour” finding replacement teams can often have a domino effect in inconveniencing multiple schedules of other schools. So if it is Tennessee Tech, so be it.
