The TCU Horned Frogs have added the Northwestern State Demons to their 2028 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.

A copy of the football game contract with Texas Christian University was obtained from Northwestern State University via a state public records request.

TCU will host Northwestern State at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, September 2, 2028. The Horned Frogs will pay the Demons a $600,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.

TCU and Northwestern State’s only previous meeting in football came back in 2001 in Fort Worth. The Demons upset the Horned Frogs in that contest, 27-24 in overtime.

Northwestern State University, located in Natchitoches, La., is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Demons, led by head coach Blaine McCorkle, are 0-2 so far this season following losses to Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech.

The addition of Northwestern State completes TCU’s non-conference schedule for the 2028 season. The Horned Frogs are scheduled to open the season at home against Louisiana on August 26 before visiting Duke on Sept. 9.

The Big 12 has not yet announced the conference opponents for each team for the 2028 season. However, TCU should have five home games and four road tilts.

The Horned Frogs are the second scheduled non-conference opponent for Northwestern State for the 2028 season. The Demons are also slated to host Central Arkansas on Sept. 16.
