The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks have added the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils to their 2021 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the official game contract was obtained from Stephen F. Austin State University via a Texas Public Information Act request.
Stephen F. Austin will host Mississippi Valley State at Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches, Texas, on Sept. 18, 2021. The Lumberjacks will pay the Delta Devils a $130,000 guarantee for the contest, according to the copy of the contract.
Stephen F. Austin competes in the Southland Conference, while Mississippi Valley State is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), both in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
The addition of Mississippi Valley State completes the non-conference schedule for Stephen F. Austin in 2021. The Lumberjacks are scheduled to open the season at home against Alabama A&M on Sept. 4 and then travel to take on Texas Tech the following week on Sept. 11.
In Southland Conference action in 2021, Stephen F. Austin is scheduled to host Sam Houston State (at NRG Stadium), Nicholls, Houston Baptist, and Incarnate Word and travel to Central Arkansas, Lamar, Southeastern Louisiana, and Northwestern State.
Stephen F. Austin is the first known non-conference opponent scheduled for Mississippi Valley State for the 2021 season.
