The Southeastern Louisiana Lions will play at the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in 2021, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Southeastern Louisiana will travel to take on Louisiana Tech at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston on Sept. 11, 2021. The Bulldogs will pay the Lions a $275,000 guarantee for the game, per a copy of the contract obtained from Southeastern Louisiana University via a state public records request.

Southeastern Louisiana and Louisiana Tech first met on the gridiron in 1938 and have played a total of 37 times. The Bulldogs won the most recent meeting in 2008, 41-26, and currently lead the overall series 28-7-2.

The Southeastern Louisiana Lions are a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). SLU finished the 2018 season 4-7 overall and 4-5 in Southland play.

The addition of Louisiana Tech gives Southeastern Louisiana two non-conference opponents for the 2021 season. The Lions are also scheduled to host North Alabama on Sept. 4.

Louisiana Tech has tentatively completed their 2021 non-conference schedule with the addition of Southeastern Louisiana. LA Tech is scheduled to open the season at Mississippi State on Sept. 4, host SMU on Sept. 18, and travel to play NC State on Oct. 2.

Southeastern Louisiana opens the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 at home at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. Louisiana Tech opens the season on the same day with a road contest in Austin against the Texas Longhorns.
