The South Dakota State Jackrabbits have released their fall 2021 football schedule, which includes six home contests and 11 games overall.
South Dakota State opens its 2021 campaign with a Sept. 4 trek to Fort Collins, Colo. The Jackrabbits will do battle with the Colorado State Rams in Canvas Stadium.
Lindenwood University will break the seal on SDSU’s home slate at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium in Brookings, South Dakota, the following Saturday. The Lions are part of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) games coming to Brookings include Southern Illinois (Oct. 9), Northern Iowa (Oct. 23), North Dakota State (Nov. 6), and North Dakota (Nov. 20).
SDSU’s road MVFC opponents include Indiana State (Sept. 25), Western Illinois (Oct. 16), Youngstown State (Oct. 30), and South Dakota in the South Dakota Showdown Series (Nov. 13).
The Jackrabbits’ other non-league contest will be an Oct. 2 date with Dixie State.

South Dakota State is slated to play in this weekend’s FCS playoff semifinals. The Jackrabbts are 7-1 and will host the undefeated Delaware Blue Hens Saturday at noon. The game will be televised over ESPN.
