The South Alabama Jaguars have added the Southeastern Louisiana Lions to their 2026 football schedule, according to USA’s official athletics website.
South Alabama will host Southeastern Louisiana at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Southeastern Louisiana is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Lions finished the 2018 season 4-7 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
The addition of Southeastern Louisiana tentatively completes South Alabama’s 2026 non-conference football schedule. Other contests for the Jaguars that season include road trips at Tulane (Sept. 12) and Kentucky (Sept. 26) and a home game against Ohio (Sept. 19).
The Jaguars now have six future football games scheduled against opponents from the FCS — Jackson State (2019), Grambling State (2020), Alcorn State (2021), Nicholls (2022), Eastern Kentucky (2023), and Southeastern Louisiana (2026).
South Alabama is the first scheduled non-conference opponent for Southeastern Louisiana for the 2026 season. Other Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents on SLU’s future schedules include Ole Miss (2019), Tulane (2020, 2024), Louisiana Tech (2021), and Mississippi State (2023).
