The South Alabama Jaguars have added the Northwestern State Demons to their 2024 football schedule, according to South Alabama’s official athletics website.
South Alabama will host Northwestern State at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala., on Sept. 14, 2024. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Northwestern State is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Demons finished the 2019 season 3-9 overall and 3-6 in Southland Conference action.
The addition of Northwestern State completes the non-conference schedule for South Alabama in 2024. The Jaguars are scheduled to open the season at home against North Texas on Aug. 31 and also travel to both Ohio (Sept. 7) and LSU (Sept. 28).
South Alabama is the second known non-conference opponent for Northwestern State’s 2024 football schedule. The Demons have a home contest against Prairie View A&M scheduled for Sept. 7 that season.
South Alabama is scheduled to open the 2020 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 on the road against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Northwestern State opens their slate two days prior on Thursday, Sept. 3 at home against the Incarnate Word Cardinals.
