Six games on the 2020 Presbyterian Blue Hose football schedule have been canceled, the school announced on Monday.
The games were canceled as a result of decisions made by the conferences of the opposing teams due to the ongoing coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Below are the six games that have been canceled:
- at Morehead State (Sept. 3)
- at Johnson C. Smith (Sept. 12)
- vs. UVA-Wise (Sept. 19)
- vs. Stetson (Oct. 3)
- vs. Merrimack (Nov. 14)
- vs. UVA-Lynchburg (Nov. 21)
It’s currently unknown whether Presbyterian will reschedule any of these contests for future seasons or schedule and replacement opponents for the 2020 season.
The fluidity and unpredictability within college athletics being caused by the ongoing nationwide pandemic makes it difficult to predict what the 2020 football season may hold. Further scheduling updates will be provided when it becomes possible to do so.
Presbyterian now has only five games currently scheduled for the 2020 season. Their first contest, as of now, would be at Gardner-Webb on Sept. 26. The Blue Hose are also slated to play at Incarnate Word (Oct. 10), Campbell (Oct. 31), and Furman (Nov. 7) and host Erskine College (Oct. 24).
Two of the canceled games were against future PFL foes
