Sacred Heart announces 2020 football schedule

The Sacred Heart Pioneers have released their 2020 football schedule, which features a game at Penn.

Sacred Heart opens the 2020 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 at home at Campus Field in Fairfield, Conn., against Lafayette, which is the first of their three non-conference contests. The Pioneers open Northeast Conference (NEC) action the following week on Sept. 12 on the road against Long Island.

Saint Francis (Pa.) is scheduled to visit Campus Field on Sept. 19 before the Pioneers travel to take on Stony Brook in another non-conference tilt on Sept. 26.

After an open date on Oct. 3, Sacred Heart closes out the non-conference portion of their schedule at Penn on Oct. 10 and home against Merrimack on Oct. 17. The Pioneers then travel to take on Duquesne on Oct. 24 before hosting Bryant on Oct. 31.

Sacred Heart then plays consecutive road contests at Central Connecticut on Nov. 7 and Wagner on Nov. 14 before closing out their regular-season schedule at home against Robert Morris on Nov. 21.

Sacred Heart finished the 2019 season 7-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play. The Pioneers last won the Northeast Conference championship in 2018 and have won four overall.
