The Purdue Boilermakers will host the Memphis Tigers in 2020 and the Indiana State Sycamores in 2022, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Copies of contracts for both games were obtained from Purdue University by FBSchedules.com via a public records request.
Purdue will host Memphis at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana on Sept. 12, 2020. The Boilermakers will pay the Tigers a $750,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract.
The 2020 contest between Purdue and Memphis will be their first-ever on the gridiron.
Indiana State will visit West Lafayette on Sept. 10, 2022. According to the contract, the Sycamores will receive a $500,000 guarantee for playing the game.
Purdue and Indiana State first met in 1926 and have played a total of five times. Purdue won the last meeting 38-14 in 2015 to extend their lead in the series to 5-0.
Purdue-Indiana State is the first scheduled Big Ten vs. FCS matchup that we know of since the conference announced they were loosening their restrictions on scheduling FCS teams.
Indiana State is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision. Last season, the Sycamores finished 4-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
