The Prairie View A&M Panthers have released their 2020 football schedule, which features five contests at home.
“Releasing the schedule early gives our alumni, family and friends an opportunity to plan accordingly for the 2020 football season,” said PVAMU Interim Athletic Director Alicia Pete. “This gives everyone a chance to purchase season tickets early, as well as implementing tailgating plans. We want all to mark their calendars and get ready for a great 2020 football season.”
Prairie View A&M will open the 2020 season at home at Panther Stadium in Prairie View, Texas, against the Texas Southern Tigers in the Labor Day Classic on Sept. 5. Arch-rival Texas Southern also represents Prairie View A&M’s first Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest of the season.
The Panthers then head out for consecutive road non-conference games at the TCU Horned Frogs on Sept. 12 and at the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Sept. 19. PVAMU then travels to Dallas, Texas, on Sept. 26 to take on the Grambling State Tigers in the State Fair Classic at the Cotton Bowl.
Prairie View A&M returns home on Oct. 3 to host the Northwestern State Demons, their final non-conference opponent of the season. The Panthers resume SWAC play at the Jackson State Tigers on Oct. 10 before hosting the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at Panther Stadium on Oct. 17.
After their only off week of the season on Oct. 24, Prairie View A&M travels to take on the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Halloween (Oct. 31). PVAMU then returns home to host back-to-back contests against the Southern Jaguars on Nov. 7 and the Alcorn State Braves on Nov. 14.
Prairie View A&M closes out the 2020 regular-season on Nov. 21 with a road contest at the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils.
The 2020 SWAC Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5 at a site to be determined.
