Oklahoma at West Virginia football game rescheduled for December 12

The Oklahoma Sooners at West Virginia Mountaineers football game has been postponed and rescheduled, the Big 12 announced on Wednesday.

The two schools were scheduled to meet at Mountaineer Field in Morgantown, W.Va., on Saturday, Nov. 28. The game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12.

The Oklahoma-West Virginia football game was postponed due to “…recent positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing” within the Oklahoma program.

Oklahoma is 6-2 overall and 5-2 in Big 12 action this season. The Sooners are scheduled to return to the gridiron on Saturday, Dec. 5 at home against the Baylor Bears.

“I am disappointed for both teams, who have worked extremely hard in their preparation for this weekend’s game,” WVU Director of Athletics Shane Lyons said. “We will now look forward to honoring our seniors and hosting the Sooners on Dec 12.”

West Virginia (5-3, 4-3 Big 12) is scheduled to play next at the 13th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday, Dec. 5.
