The Northern Iowa Panthers have announced their 2020 football schedule. The slate features eight MVFC tilts, a season-opening game at Iowa, and a home date against FCS national semifinalist Weber State.
UNI opens the season Sept. 5 at Iowa, with a trip to Idaho State the following weekend. The game with Weber State (Sept. 19) marks the home opener for the Panthers, and the final non-conference date of the campaign.
FCS national champion North Dakota State visits the UNI-Dome the following week, marking the first of four conference home dates. Illinois State (Oct. 17), South Dakota State (Nov. 7), and Missouri State (Nov. 21) round out the Panthers’ home schedule.
The Panthers begin road play in the MVFC with a trek through Illinois, composed of road visits to face Southern Illinois in Carbondale (Oct. 3) and Western Illinois in Macomb (Oct. 10). Trips to South Dakota (Oct. 24) and Youngstown State (Nov. 14) complete the road grouping.

UNI (10-5, 6-2 MVFC) finished fifth in the final 2019 STATS FCS poll and sixth in the final coaches poll. The club finished second in the MVFC behind eventual national champion North Dakota State, guided by 19th-year head coach Mark Farley.
