The North Dakota State Bison have added the Maine Black Bears to their 2023 football schedule, it was announced on Monday.
North Dakota State will host Maine at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome in Fargo, N.D., on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools in football.
North Dakota and Maine were scheduled to play on Sept. 15, 2001, but the game was canceled following the 9/11 terror attacks on the United States of America.
North Dakota State is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC), while Maine competes in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), both in the Football Championship Subdivision.
Maine is the second announced non-conference opponent for North Dakota State’s 2023 football schedule. The Bison are also scheduled to host the Central Arkansas Bears on Sept. 16 that season.
