The North Carolina Tar Heels and the UCF Knights have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2018 and 2020, both schools announced on Wednesday.
In the first game of the series, North Carolina will host UCF at Kenan Memorial Stadium in Chapel Hill on Sept. 15, 2018. The Tar Heels will then travel to take on the Knights at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando on Sept. 12, 2020.
North Carolina, a member of the ACC, and UCF, a member of the American Athletic Conference, have never met on the football field.
The addition of UCF tentatively completes the 2018 non-conference schedule for the Tar Heels. UNC is slated to open the 2018 season at California on Sept. 1, visit East Carolina on Sept. 8, and later host Western Carolina on Nov. 17.
North Carolina now has two non-conference games set for the 2020 season. The Tar Heels are also scheduled to host Old Dominion on Sept. 26.
UCF now has two announced non-conference games for both the 2018 and 2020 seasons. The Knights are also slated to host Florida Atlantic on Sept. 22, 2018 and travel to Georgia Tech on Sept. 19, 2020.
