The North Carolina A&T Aggies have added the Ferrum College Panthers to their 2027 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
North Carolina A&T will host Ferrum College at Truist Stadium in Greensboro, N.C., on a date to be determined during the 2027 season. The contract stated the game would be played on August 28, but North Carolina A&T later agreed to move its game at NC State to that date.
The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron, according to Ferrum’s records. The Aggies will pay the Panthers a $50,000 guarantee for playing the game, per the copy of the contract obtained from North Carolina A&T State University via a public records request.
Ferrum College, located in Ferrum, Va., is a member of Conference Carolinas in Division II. The Panthers previously competed at the Division III level in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
North Carolina A&T is currently scheduled to open the 2027 season on the road against NC State on August 28 before visiting Chicago State on Sept. 18. The Aggies had also been set to face North Carolina Central in the Duke’s Mayo Classic in Charlotte on August 28, but the status of that matchup is unclear.
The Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) currently plays an eight-game league slate with four non-conference opponents. If that format holds and the Aggies still play NC Central, their 2027 slate is tentatively complete.

Where did you find the NC Central-North Carolina A&T game in 2027 was supposed to be August 28 because in this article that you posted in 2021, it said that the dates were to be determined but would be played in the season opener. Remember that the season opener at the time was the weekend of September 4. I looked back and didn’t see anything suggest it was ever moved to August 28 in the first place.
