The Norfolk State Spartans and Campbell Camels have scheduled a home-and-home football series for the 2027 and 2029 seasons, according to Campbell’s official athletics website.
Norfolk State will open a two‑game series with Campbell on the road, traveling to Barker‑Lane Stadium in Buies Creek, N.C., on Thursday, August 26, 2027. The matchup shifts to Norfolk the following season, with the Spartans set to host the Camels at William “Dick” Price Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2029.
The programs have never met on the gridiron.
Norfolk State owns a 43‑79‑2 all‑time record against current Coastal Athletic Association members, while Campbell is 3‑2 against active MEAC opponents.
Campbell becomes the fifth publicly announced opponent on Norfolk State’s 2027 schedule. The Spartans are slated to host Richmond on September 25 and travel to Old Dominion (Sept. 4), Towson (Oct. 9), and Elon (date TBA).
In 2029, Norfolk State is scheduled for road contests at Wake Forest on Aug. 30 and Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 15.
For Campbell, adding Norfolk State tentatively completes the non‑conference portion of its 2027 slate. Following the opener against NSU, the Camels visit Wake Forest on Sept. 4, host ETSU on Sept. 11, and travel to Western Carolina on Sept. 18.
Norfolk State is the first confirmed non‑conference opponent on Campbell’s 2029 schedule.
