Norfolk State announces 2021 football schedule

The Norfolk State Spartans have announced their 2021 football schedule, which features games at Toledo and Wake Forest.

Norfolk State opens the 2021 season with six consecutive non-conference contests, beginning on the road at Toledo on Sept. 4 and at Wake Forest on Sept. 11. The Spartans will welcome Division II Elizabeth City State to William “Dick” Price Stadium in Norfolk, Va., on Sept. 18 to open their home schedule.

Back-to-back road games are next as the Spartans travel to Saint Francis U. on Sept. 25 and Hampton on Oct. 2. Following an open date, Virginia-Lynchburg visits Norfolk on Oct. 16 to close out their non-conference schedule.

The Spartans then enter the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) portion of their schedule, beginning with a visit to Howard on Oct. 23. Norfolk State will also travel to face North Carolina Central on Nov. 6 and Delaware State on Nov. 13.

MEAC contests in Norfolk will include visits from Morgan State on Oct. 30 and South Carolina State on Nov. 20.

Norfolk State’s fall 2020 season was canceled due to the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The Spartans opted out of playing the spring 2021 season.
