Navy and Notre Dame will play at FedEx Field in Landover, MD in 2014, Navy announced today. The game is set for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014.
“FedExField did a fine job of hosting the Army-Navy game and we are looking forward to another sold out event in 2014,” said Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk.
“The Navy and Notre Dame game highlights two outstanding collegiate programs,” said Redskins Chief Marketing Officer Gershman. “We are excited to welcome both teams back to FedExField and are looking forward to hosting one of the most competitive and nationally acclaimed matchups in the country.”
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lead the overall series against the Navy Midshipmen 73-12-1, but the two schools have split the last six meetings. Notre Dame won this years contest 50-10, which was played at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
Navy’s 2014 schedule also includes home game vs. Ohio State, Rutgers, Western Kentucky, VMI, San Jose State, and San Diego State and road games vs. Temple, Texas State, Air Force, and South Alabama. The Middies also face the Black Knights in the annual Army-Navy game.
Notre Dame’s 2014 schedule is in flux due to their agreement to play five ACC games per year, beginning as early as the ’14 season. Currently, the Irish host Rice, Michigan, Purdue, Stanford, Pittsburgh, and Northwestern and travel to Syracuse (at MetLife Stadium), Temple, Arizona State, Navy (at FedEx Field), and USC.
Football Schedules
Does Notre dame ever play at their own field?
yes, at least 6 games/season.
6 in 2013 (including the USNA), 6 in 2014 (one game to be announced), 6 (so far) in 2015, including the USNA…….
notre dame and navy wont even be a good game.
NOTRE DAME WILL KILL NAVY.
If you are a NOTRE DAME fan, your lucky.
Hopefully they get new turf. All the Irish needs is to have one of their top players get a knee injury on the crap field
