The Montana State Bobcats and the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks have scheduled a home-and-home football series for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the game contract was obtained from Montana State University via a state public records request.
In the first game of the series, Montana State will host Stephen F. Austin at Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman, Mont., on September 14, 2024. The Bobcats will then travel to play the Lumberjacks the following season at Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches, Texas, on September 13, 2025.
Montana State, a member of the Big Sky Conference, and Stephen F. Austin, a member of the Southland Conference, have met six times on the gridiron dating back to their first contest in 1992. Stephen F. Austin won the most recent contest 52-38 in 2013, but Montana State still leads the overall series 4-2.
Stephen F. Austin is the second scheduled non-conference opponent for Montana State for both the 2024 and 2025 seasons. The Bobcats are scheduled to play at Dixie State on Aug. 31, 2024 and at Oregon on Aug. 30, 2025.
Montana State is 8-3 overall and 5-2 in Big Sky action with one game remaining against Montana on Saturday. Stephen F. Austin is 2-9 overall and 2-6 in Southland play and concludes their season Thursday evening at Northwestern State.
