Montana State to host LIU in 2020, Morehead State in 2022

The Montana State Bobcats have added games against Long Island in 2020 and Morehead State in 2022 to their future football schedules, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Copies of contracts for both games were obtained from Montana State University via a state public records request.

Montana State will host Long Island (LIU) at Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman on Sept. 5, 2020. LIU will receive a $275,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.

LIU will play their first season as a member of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and the Northeast Conference (NEC) in 2019. The school is combining the athletics programs of its two campuses, Brooklyn and Post.

The Morehead State Eagles will travel to take on Montana State in Bozeman on Sept. 3, 2022. Montana State will pay Morehead State a $250,000 guarantee, per the contract copy.

Morehead State competes in the Pioneer Football League (PFL). Last season, the Eagles finished 3-8 overall and 2-6 in PFL action.

Montana State, a member of the Big Sky Conference, opens the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 on the road against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Bobcats open Big Sky play on Sept. 28 at home against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
