The Missouri State Bears have released their 2020 football schedule, which includes five home contests.

Missouri State will open the 2020 season with a tough assignment on the road against the Oklahoma Sooners on Sept. 5. One week later on Sept. 12, the Bears open their home slate at Robert W. Plaster Stadium in Springfield, Mo., against the Montana Grizzlies.

Without any consecutive home or road contests, the remainder of Missouri State’s 2020 football schedule rotates each week from an away game to a home game. Road contests include South Dakota (Sept. 19), North Dakota (Oct. 10), Indiana State (Oct. 24), Tarleton State (Nov. 7), and Northern Iowa (Nov. 21), while home contests include Youngstown State (Oct. 3), Southern Illinois (Oct. 17), North Dakota State (Oct. 31), and Illinois State (Nov. 14).

The 2020 season will be the first for Missouri State under head coach Bobby Petrino. Petrino last coached at Louisville, where he went 77-35 overall (45-24 ACC) but was fired during the 2018 season when the Cardinals were 2-8 overall and winless in ACC play (0-7).

Missouri State finished the 2019 season 1-10 overall and 1-7 in Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) action.
