Merrimack releases 2020 football schedule

The Merrimack Warriors have released their 2020 football schedule, according to a report by STATS PERFORM.

Merrimack opens the 2020 season with back-to-back home contests at Duane Stadium in North Andover, Mass., against Holy Cross on Sept. 5 and Central Connecticut on Sept. 12.

The Warriors then travel for three consecutive contests, beginning at Wagner on Sept. 19. Trips to take on Saint Francis U. and New Hampshire follow on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, respectively.

Merrimack then returns home to host Long Island on Oct. 10 before traveling to face Sacred Heart on Oct. 17. The following week on Oct. 24, Merrimack hosts Virginia-Lynchburg. Another road contest, this time at Robert Morris, follows on Oct. 31.

After their only open date of the season on Nov. 7, Merrimack closes out their schedule with back-to-back games on the road at Presbyterian on Nov. 14 and James Madison on Nov. 21.

Merrimack finished the 2019 season 6-5 overall, which was their first season at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level.

The 2020 season will be the second for Merrimack as a reclassifying member of the Northeast Conference. The Warriors will not be a full member of the NEC until the 2023 season.
