The Mid-Eastern Conference (MEAC) has released their 2020 football schedule that will be played in the Spring of 2021.
For the Spring MEAC season, the conference will split into divisions:
Northern Division: Delaware State, Howard, Morgan State, Norfolk State.
Southern Division: Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T State, North Carolina Central, South Carolina State
Northern Division teams will face each other twice this spring, while teams in the Southern Division will have two teams they play twice and two teams they play once. Each team will play a six-game schedule and will have two bye weeks.
MEAC action will begin on Saturday, Feb. 20 with four matchups and will conclude on Saturday, April 10. The MEAC Football Championship Game will be held Saturday, April 17, one week prior to the FCS playoffs that begin on Saturday, April 24.
“The mental and physical health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans must be at the forefront,” MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas said. “With that in mind, creative and innovative scheduling was required to accomplish our goals. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to restrict travel to regional competition. Hopefully, the type of schedule is for spring 2021 only.”
