The McNeese Cowboys have announced their 2019 football schedule, and it includes six home games.
McNeese opens the 2019 season at home at Cowboy Stadium in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Saturday, Aug. 31 against the in-state rival Southern Jaguars.
The Cowboys then head off to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Sept. 7 before returning to Lake Charles to host the Alcorn State Braves on Sept. 14.
The following week on Sept. 21, McNeese opens up Southland Conference play at the Abilene Christian Wildcats. McNeese then hosts back-to-back conference games at home against the Sam Houston State Bearkats on Sept. 28 and the Southeastern Louisiana Lions on Oct. 5.
McNeese then heads off to Conway to take on the Central Arkansas Bears on Oct. 12, followed by a home contest against the Houston Baptist Huskies on Oct. 19.
On Oct. 26, the Cowboys travel to face the Stephen F. Austin Jacks before returning home to host the Northwestern State Demons on Nov. 2. McNeese then enjoys their only bye week of the season on Nov. 9.
McNeese closes out the 2019 regular-season with consecutive games on the road. The Cowboys travel to face the Nicholls Colonels on Nov. 16 and the Lamar Cardinals on Nov. 23.
McNeese finished the 2018 season 6-5 overall and 5-4 in Southland Conference action. The Cowboys have won 14 Southland Conference championships in their history, the last in 2015.
