The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at North Texas Mean Green football game has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 3, both schools have announced.

The two schools were scheduled to meet at Apogee Stadium in Denton, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 7. The game was postponed due to novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) cases and contact tracing issues at North Texas.

The rescheduled contest on Thursday, Dec. 3 will be televised by CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) at 6:00pm ET/5:00pm CT.

“Although we are disappointed we won’t get to play this Saturday, we support the decision that has been made for the welfare of everyone involved,” said Louisiana Tech VP and Director of Athletics Eric Wood on Thursday. “We understand the current situation at North Texas as we were in their exact same position back in early September prior to our opener against Baylor. This will provide our student-athletes an open weekend to recover from seven straight weeks of football, and we look forward to playing in Denton in early December.”

Louisiana Tech, 4-3 overall and 3-2 in Conference USA, is next scheduled to play on Saturday, Nov. 14 at home against the Rice Owls. The Bulldogs are currently in second place in the C-USA West standings.

North Texas, 2-3 overall and 1-2 in C-USA play, is next scheduled to compete on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the UAB Blazers. The Mean Green are tied with Southern Miss for fifth in the West.
